Women who are less privileged to find a good job can work from their homes with us so that they can fulfil their roles and responsibilities of family while earning an income for themselves.
We provide materials to our women including old saree fabric and clothing, and sewing materials that they use to make beautiful creations – from shopping bags to laptop bags, pouches, key rings, purses and so much more.
We compensate our women with wages that are fair and equal, enabling them to sustain and cover their monthly living costs and to allow for their children to access good and quality education.
Sakhi Kunj is developing a growing community of women, who are building their confidence, becoming empowered through skills development and finding support and friendship in each other.
By focusing on upcycling used and pre-loved clothing and saree material, we are contributing to reducing waste generated and helping to ensure a better future for our planet for all.
Our women are proud to send their creations to our partner in Canada, who sells to the market there and tells the stories of Sakhi Kunj women.
We welcome volunteers from all over the world to Sakhi Kunj, to offer their skills and to help grow and build our women's upliftment and empowerment project.

About Us

Sakhi Kunj is an alliance of women living in the slums of Delhi and surrounding rural areas. Our mission is to support these women for equal opportunities through access to employment, financial assistance, healthcare, and education for themselves, their families, and their communities.
