Sakhi Kunj is dedicated to empowering women in India, by operating on fair-trade principles, upholding the values of gender equality and sustainability.
Founded in 2016, Sakhi Kunj was created in response to the deep gender discrimination that continues to shape the lives of women across India.
Founder, Meera Arya, witnessed countless women give everything to their families, yet receive so few opportunities in return. Growing up in her mother’s orphanage for deaf and disabled children, Meera learned early that dignity, compassion, and meaningful work can transform a life.
Sakhi Kunj exists to offer that transformation.

Divineya Society, known as “Sisters of India,” is a registered charity in Canada founded by mother-daughter duo Wendy and Taya. They play a vital role in supporting Sakhi Kunj by providing opportunities for women to work and earn.
